Our Garden

At Ancaster Village Nursery we are outdoorsy types and enjoy being in our large enclosed garden which we use all year round. The children are able to enjoy many activities in the different areas of the garden.

We dig, plant and grow fruit and vegetables that we harvest and eat. We have grown broad beans, peas, carrots, flowers, squash and sunflowers. We tell stories in our village of dens and find frogs and butterflies in our long grass meadow.

We run forest school sessions, under the watchful eye of specially trained staff. Activities include: building, lighting and cooking on a camp fire, tool use, making dens, and much more.

We climb and slide, run and ride, crawl through tunnels and imagine we are pirates sailing the seven seas. In our mud kitchen we are top chefs serving the best mud pies!

In our sensory area we smell the flowers, rest on the bench and talk to our friends. We can watch the horses in the next field and look for rabbits.

We have picnics in the summer and enjoy paddling pools and sprinklers when we need to cool down.

We build snowmen and sledge down the slopes in the winter snow.

We love our garden!
